Artist(s): AP Visual Art Students at Brighton High School
Description: A Brighton High School AP Art exhibition exploring the concept of identity through self-portraiture. The BHS 11th and 12th grade AP art class was asked to push the boundaries of self-portraiture, reflecting on their own unique personalities, emphasizing what is meaningful to them as individuals. Students were challenged to investigate both the interior and exterior of who they are, how they perceive themselves, and how others may perceive them. Through personal inquiry and extensive planning, these student artists were assigned to create a self-portrait using a variety of 2D media.
