Her first love was drawing, and my later exposure to artists such as Matisse and Alex Katz nurtured a passion for color and the flattened picture plane. She came to acrylic painting after working in silkscreen printmaking, textile design, and monoprinting.

Lisa grew up north of Boston in the picturesque seaside town of Marblehead, and she still loves the sea and salt air. She studied art at Smith College (BA), the Rhode Island School of Design, Dartmouth College, the B.U. Tanglewood Institute, and the extension school of the School of the MFA. She previously worked as an account executive in direct marketing and magazine advertising and as a textile designer for a local apparel firm and for the Swedish designer “Katja of Sweden” (Katja Geiger).
