Unbound Visual Arts (www.UnboundVisualArts.org) presents at the Art Gallery at Harvard Allston Education Portal 175 North Harvard St., Allston, MA (617-657-4278) UnboundVisualArts.org. MBTA: #66, 70, 70A, 86 Buses to Western Ave/North Harvard St., Fri 3-7 pm, Sat-Sun 1-5 pm. May 9-June 30, 2013. Unlimited, sculptural artworks by six members of the Boston Sculpture Gallery that interprets, explores and presents concepts related to “unlimited” lives. Curated by John Quatrale. UVA Members Exhibit, curated by Ruth Rieffanaugh and Karen Smigliani features 50 artwork in all media from 27 members. Opening reception for both exhibits – May 9th 5:30 – 8pm.

Unbound Visual Arts (www.UnboundVisualArts.org), founded 6 months ago by nine founding members to enliven the creative economy for all in Allston, Brighton and the surrounding towns, is presenting and organizing two new exhibits,Unlimited and UVA Members Exhibit, at the Art Gallery at The Harvard Allston Education Portal. The Education Portal is the Allston-Brighton community’s front door to Harvard’s educational, cultural, arts, and recreational resources.

The Unlimited exhibit in Gallery I includes 14 sculptural artworks by six artists of the Boston Sculptural Gallery. The artists include Caroline Bagenal, Murray Dewart, Mags Harries, Michelle Lougee, Andy Moerlein and Nora Valdez. The exhibit, curated by John Quatrale, interprets, explores and presents concepts related to “unlimited” lives.  In Gallery II,  twenty-seven (27) Unbound Visual Art members will be displaying over 50 fine artworks in the first UVA Members Exhibit,The fine art includes paintings, drawings, photographs, mixed media and sculptures.  This exhibit is curated by Ruth Rieffanaugh and Karen Smigliani.

Art from both exhibits will be for sale to the general public. The public is invited to a free grand opening reception with refreshments on Thursday May 9th from 5:30 – 8pm. Both exhibits run from May 9 – June 30, 2013. The Education Portal, which is handicapped accessible, is located at 175 North Harvard St., Allston, MA.  Public transportation is available through MBTA buses (#66, 70, 70A, 86  to Western Ave/North Harvard St.).  Automobile and bicycle parking is also available and a Hubway Station is on site as well.  The normal public hours for the two exhibitions are Friday from 3-7 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 pm.
