Olympic SPIRIT Reception

Unbound Visual Arts’ newest thematic art exhibition opened in the Scollay Square Gallery in Boston City Hall on October 1st, 2015.   The  opening reception for “Olympic SPIRIT,” a very festive ArtWeek Boston event, was a huge success. At least 50 guests gathered to experience this educational exhibition and meet the artists.  They also listened to music provided by the Gainsborough String Quartet from the New England Conservatory of Music and there was lots a wonderful healthy food from Whole Foods Market.  Five (5) of the artists in the exhibition gave short artist talks as well, which was very much appreciated by those in attendance.  The artists giving talks included Nancer Ballard, Linda Clave, Eric Mauro, Katha Seidman, and Nohelia Vargas.

The entire exhibition of 41 works of art by 19 UVA artists is completely on the UVA website.  The exhibition continues through November 6th. Its open 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.  In the gallery, visitors use the printed program guides, which includes artist statements specifically written for this exhibition by all the artists and a price list.

Several members of the non-profit UVA Board of Directors, including Louise Bonar, Tsun Ming Chmielinski, Susan Loomis, John Quatrale and Christine Winship, were at the reception and they all commented how wonderful the gallery looked and helped to enhance the exhibition.  This thematic exhibition is one of the best that UVA has organized in its 3 year history and  UVA is very thankful to the the City of Boston and the Arts and Culture Department.
