Unbound Visual Arts, Inc., the new non-profit incorporated to enliven the creative economy, is sponsoring By The Sea: Ceramic Art by Ray Ryan
and Michelle McClurg at the Faneuil Library Art Gallery. A public reception is Tuesday August 6th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. The artwork in the exhibition was created out of a passion for the sea, the beach, sea shells and clay by two Allston residents. Together, working at the Harvard Ceramics Studio in Allston, they have constructed a series of clay creatures of the sea that carry forth their interest and their curiosity with underwater life. McClurg recalls digging at the beaches as child on Lake Erie and Ryan was long ago fascinated by the underwater life in the Pacific Ocean. Michelle likes “recreating the memories of walking on the beach with the sea and the sand swirling over shells and other indigenous aquatic splendor.” Ray’s fish are “an evolution of imagination and wondering what life is [like] deep below the surface of the sea.” The exhibition runs through September 7, 2013 and is open from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm on Mon. Wed. and Thurs; Noon – 8:00 pm on Tuesday and 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Friday |Faneuil Library Art Gallery, 419 Faneuil St., Brighton, MA.| MBTA: Buses 57, 64, 501, 503.
