Lucas Vidana is a painter. Although not formally trained in painting, he has been a professional artist for the last 10 years. He has sold paintings around the country in many solo and group shows. He has shown in places such as Seattle, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angles, San Diego, New York, Miami, and Boston.
Vidana grew up outside Seattle, Washington. Coming from a long line of artists in his family, he took to art easily at a young age. He started painting at 6 years old. Almost immediately his passion grew and he began to paint everyday.
During high school his art teachers saw the potential he contained and pushed him to develop in many mediums. In 10th grade he was placed in a Northwest, regional art contest and received the 2nd place award for painting. After this his art took off. He was trained in glass fusing and was funded by the State of Washington to make two public wall sculptures in glass. He also won a grant to study at the Pilchuk Glass School for two weeks where Dale Chihuly mentored him. Vidana received another grant for a weekend intensive at the Clay Art Center in Tacoma, Washington to study sculpture. Although adept in many mediums, his true passion is painting.
