Diana Weiske: Petals & Places, curated by Ruth Rieffanaugh, at the Harvard Allston Education Portal Art Galleries is a lively colorfest in oil on canvas. Impressionistic florals and picture-postcard scenes in luscious, bold hues with active brushstrokes keep the viewer engaged. A public wine reception for the exhibitions at the Harvard Allston Education Portal in Barry’s Corner is Thursday September 26th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. The Education Portal is located at 175 North Harvard St., Allston, MA. Public transportation is available through MBTA buses (#66, 70, 70A, 86  to Western Ave/North Harvard St.). A five minute walk from the Harvard Business School and a fifteen minute walk form Harvard Square.  Automobile and bicycle parking is also available and a Hubway Station is on site as well.  The public hours for the exhibition is Monday – Friday from 3:00 -7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 -5:00 pm.  The exhibition runs through November 3, 2013.

Diana Weiske, a member of Unbound Visual Arts,  is an artist residing in Brighton, MA. She came to live in Brighton as a graduate student at Boston College (MA, Biology), and decided to make Brighton her home. She has taken studio-painting courses during the past 10 years. Her work is influenced by the bright colors of the expressionist artists, particularly the Blue Rider Group. Diana paints primarily in oils. This is her first one-person exhibition.
