Artist Biography:
I have recently graduated (May 2013) from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston with a Masters of Arts in Teaching Art Education, PreK-8 & 5-12. Currently, I am seeking employment as Art Educator at the Elementary School level, however I hold my license and certification in both PreK-8 and 5-12 grade levels from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
I completed my student-teaching practicum with grades K-5 at Angier Elementary School in Waban (Newton), MA with Ms. Deborah Kramer. Having this experience has enriched my knowledge as an artist educator, providing me with a hands on approach to further develop my teaching philosophy and enhance my abilities. I have nearly ten years of experience working with children and youth of all ages both in and out of the classroom, and I have always had a passion for art and working with children throughout my life!
Art continues to be a major influence in many of my life choices. I enjoy the hunt to explore new artistic processes along my journey, allowing me to further my education as an artist and challenge my abilities as an artist educator. I constantly look forward to these challenges and to the opportunities that life has to offer me. I proudly consider myself a perpetual student!
Reaching one’s full potential is not an easy task, but I believe there is always room for growth, both personal and professional. As an artist educator, I hope to instill trust in all my students to help them recognize and achieve their full learning potential, all while discovering themselves along the way.
