Barbara Sawin, Owner and Manager of Davis & Sawin Florist, began her career in the florist business at age 12. She first worked for Mrs. Ada Davis and her daughter Jean at Davis Florist in Brighton. Starting as a shop assistant, and eventual lead designer, she has learned her craft from the ground up. Together with her husband George, they opened B&G Sawin Florist in Brighton in 1988. There, they became the best shop in town, winning awards such as the “Master Designer” designation and the “Blue Ribbon” at the New England Flower Show, all the while establishing themselves as a business that gives back to its community. In December of 2015, Barbara & George joined forces with West Roxbury’s premier florist, Jack Davis Florist. Since 1949 Jack Davis has also been the prominent florist in town. They too have won numerous awards including the “President’s Award for Excellence” at the New England Flower Show.
Now Davis & Sawin Florist, Barbara leads a staff of local artisans in creating the most spectacular floral arrangements for the most discerning customers.
