Unlimited

An exhibition that includes sculptural artworks by artists of the Boston Sculptors Gallery – Caroline Bagenal, Murray Dewart, Mags Harries, Michelle Lougee, Andy Moerlein and Nora Valdez. It interprets, explores and presents concepts related to “unlimited” lives. The art was selected to interpret, explore and present themes and concepts related to living unbounded lives. Like life these works are simple and complex and capture many forms, shapes, sizes, materials, patterns and connections. They are all a potential means to contemplate what a life without limits means to each of us. They are vehicles to develop our ideas of the potential of the boundless, which can be a path to abundance, happiness and prosperity. By trusting our abilities and instincts to aspire to new heights our lives can be passion-driven and more meaningful. You are invited to experience these works of art. Do any of them resonate with you by suggesting a challenge or fear in your unlimited life? Are any new actions revealed or warranted?

Caroline Bagenal, Tangled Thoughts
Caroline Bagenal’s work explores change, transformation, impermanence and history.  Her works evoke endless possibilities for building simple connections.  What thoughts of the future do you have that are “tangled” or confused? What do you need to balance in your life?

Michelle Lougee, Plume
Michelle Lougee’s work is based on organic form but often with an uncomfortable twist. The delicate balance and struggle of nature versus human society and its technology is her focus. Michelle’s work forces viewers to reconcile its whimsical yet simultaneously dark nature. Adaptability to change is strongly suggested for living a full life. What intuitions are you being guided by? What limitations have you adapted to?

Murray Dewart, Celtic Knot

Murray Dewart’s work is sometimes functional, sometimes metaphoric but usually with a gesture to the natural world and landscape around. His circular forms combine with other forms to create timeless elements that connote order, perfection and strength. They present a glimpse of the spiritual dimension within all of us. What endless possibilities does Murray’s work open up for you?

Andy Moerlein, Hanging by a Thread, fiberglass Andy Moerlein’s work has a storyteller’s attitude - that tightrope walk between naturalism and symbolism. These works embody stillness and alignment for a life of change. They also convey the struggle between steadiness and unpredictability, especially in moving beyond fear, doubt and suspicion. As you look up at the rock, what emotions, worries or habits come to mind? What’s possible vs. impossible? 

Mags Harries, Tourist

Mags Harries celebrates and transforms the humble object, the unnoticed, and the left-behind. Her work asks people to look at something familiar in a new way. The Tourist conveys balance and a sense of order and interrelationships with others, all related to living our lives in harmony. What is the strongest energy flow for you?

Nora Valdez, Immigrant

Nora Valdez’s creates work that reflects on the nature of change, the life of the individual and the natural or societal forces that buffet our souls. These works present a subtle reference to various forms of repression and detachment. What perspectives and actions work for you to generate inner peace and meaningful connectivity to and consciousness of others?
