Artist Statement

The practice of art isn’t to make a living. It’s to make your soul grow. -Kurt Vonnegut

This quote, in a nutshell, is why she makes art. It is both a delight and discipline. The challenge is to put onto canvas and share the way she sees the world around her. In return, it reminds her to open her eyes to discover and appreciate all there is to see. It is her way of expressing herself without words; leaving some mystery up to the viewer is part of the beauty of art. She wants her art to give people something of their own to take away, not what she tells them.

Nature in particular inspires her to paint. The constantly changing light, colors, and patterns are a never-ending source of inspiration.
