Mariel Leibovich

Mariel Leibovich was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1987.  She received her Bachelor of Arts from Universidad de Buenos Aires.  She has worked as a Curator and cultural manager.  As a researcher she specialized in dance and film studies, with a background of visual arts, design, photography and performance arts. She is the Producer & Associate Curator of the International Screendance Festival of Buenos Aires (VideoDanzaBA) and coordinates the Experimental Film Group of the Argentinian Association of Film Studies (AsAECA). She participates in research projects on the Dance/Technology axe.

As an author, she has published “Experimientalismo y videodanza argentina” in Torres and Garavelli (Ed.), Poéticas del movimiento. Aproximaciones al cine y video experimental argentino (2016); “La (otra) videodanza, o el caso de Aniceto de Leonardo Favio”, in Torres and Pérez Balbi (Comp.), Visualidad y dispositivo(s).
